The Questions

We men tend to ignore the questions we have lingering in the back of our brains.  We'll figure it out ourselves, right? Whether the topic is infertility, miscarriage, adoption, or leading your family through these trials, there are times we wish we had asked these questions to better prepare us. to Equip us to support our significant others & ourselves. Here are some answers we hope will help. 

We Had another Failed IVF Attempt. What do I say to my Spouse?

Having experienced a handful of these, knowing what to say is hard.  Knowing what NOT to say is just as important. Don't say: 

  • "You're young, we have plenty of time"  

  • "Just relax and It will happen" 

  • Don't talk about the money

  • "We can start adoption, everyone gets pregnant once they start the adoption process"

  • "God may have different plans for you"

  • "You're a great mother to our friends kids"

The best thing you can do is to tell her you that you love her and support her.  Tell her you understand, and while you may also be hurting, what she feels a woman longing to carry a child, is something a man will never fully understand.
